Our strategy is to establish long-term relationships with leading specialized providers of equipment and services and act as their facilitators, representatives, partners and co-investors.

HISTORY

NAUTICA was founded in 1977 by Captain Walter Mergenthaler at a time when Mexico’s oil industry was experiencing unprecedented growth. Over the next 37 years, NAUTICA represented and worked together with a large number of foreign, mainly European companies in projects that included the largest and more complex of their kind in the world.

In March 2014, Captain Mergenthaler retired from the day-to-day operations and control passed on to his son Eric Mergenthaler and a new management team.

The new management team brings vast experience in the areas of deal-making, finance and strategic planning and will expand the array of services that NAUTICA provides to the fast-growing number of foreign companies attracted to Mexico by the opportunities created by the Energy Reform.

Captain Mergenthaler will remain close to the company as Honorary Chairman and will continue to provide valuable insights and experience.
